Ridge is a plane open area , in the mid of Shimla. Form ridge scenic beauty of Shimla can be seen easily, there are few eating outlets there, in one corner of ridge the popular Christ church is situated.Ridge is basically main point of all the cultural activities of Shimla. It is connected to Mall Road of Shimla. The famous Jakhoo temple and snow don and mall etc are connected with ridge through roads.The ridge road also leads to Famous Lakkar bazaar of Shimla. Lakkar bazaar is a famous place for wooden items like wooden showpieces, wooden furniture and other house hold items. In winters during snow fall ridge gets covered with white snow .There are three statues of three Indian popular personalities that is Indira Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Y.s. Parmar . Y.S. Parmar was the first prime minister of Himachal Pardesh. All the government functions and fairs took place at Ridge.

Jakhoo Temple

Jakhoo Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, it is an ancient temple situated in Shimla. There is a road path from Ridge to Jakhoo Temple. A big festival of Dushera is celebrated every year here. You can go by walking from ridge to Jakhoo Temple. There are a lot of monkeys near the temple, they are rarely harmful they just snatch the parsad from visitor.

Naldhera

This beautiful place is located at 22 kms from Shimla. Naldhera is famous among tourists and is one of the most favorite place among them. Naldhera is like a mini heaven on earth, place is surrounded by green grass and very old time big trees. There is a golf course which makes this place more valuable. The golf course is well maintained and well groomed.

Summer Hill

The summer hill is famous for Himachal Pardesh University. This place is at a height of 1283 m from sea level.

Kufri

Kufri is one of the most famous place among tourists. All those who visits Shimla, also visits Kufri. Kufri have a lot of scenic beauty. This place is just at 19 kms from Shimla by road. Taxi service is available for Kufri from many places of Shimla. Almost every hotel of Shimla provides Taxi services to Kufri. Kufri is popular because of skiing and hiking. During winters this place become center of attraction for the tourists. Kufri have same popularity as Shimla.
